The COVID-19 virus is not going to settle down easily. Many reports say that India is going to face a drastic rise in the cronavirus cases in the near future. The one million benchmark has crossed creating a chaos in public at large.
“Ideally we could have and should have prevented it reaching this level. But even now we should try our best and contain it as quickly as possible”, the public health expert said.
“Different places (States) would peak at different times”, Dr. Reddy said on the rising COVID-19 cases. He, however, added that India may see COVID-19 cases peaking as early as in two months. If there are strong public health measures and people take all precautions like wearing face masks and maintaining physical distance.
“If everybody does what needs to be done. he said when asked if he is confident that the cases would peak within two months. “It depends on public and government action“.
Dr. Reddy, who formerly headed the Department of Cardiology. At the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, said up to the second phase of lockdown, control measures were very strict as India tried to contain the spread.
One of the biggest questions we still have about covid-19 is- how much of a viral load is needed to cause infection. The answer changes if we think it is aerosols that we need to worry about. Smaller particles won’t carry as large a viral load as bigger ones. But because they can linger in the air for much longer, it may not matter—they’ll build up in larger concentrations and get distributed more widely the longer an infected person is around to expel aerosolized virus.
In the end we all are hoping for the best. Untill and unless the vaccine is being available we cannot come to a concrete conclusion as to when all of this will end.
